libssh public key generation

Hello.  
I would like to add client key generation to my libssh-based
application.  libssh does not (as far as I can tell) provide
functions for creating keypairs for authentication purposes.
I would like to provide a "Generate public key" button in my
SSH client application.
How are other libssh users addressing this need?
